Recap: Our Community Partners of Q1 2021

Marmoset's Giving Partners

As part of our over-arching purpose to “Be Community”, Marmoset commits 10% of all profits (from our share, never the artist) to different non-profits and organizations enacting real, positive change in our community and beyond. Every quarter, we partner up with organizations fighting for social, environmental and educational equity.

And while we’re grateful to be able contribute to these community organizations, we want to acknowledge that we couldn’t do this without the help of those within our community — the creative clients, filmmakers, directors, editors… people like you.

Keep reading to find out more about the organizations we partnered with and how much we were able to invest directly into our community with your help last quarter.

With your help last quarter, Marmoset was honored to invest $34,501 into community organizations Black Resilience Fund, Causa Worker Relief, Save Our Stages, APANO, and KairosPDX. Learn more about their missions and how you can contribute directly.

Black Resilience Fund

The Black Resilience Fund is an emergency fund dedicated to fostering healing and resilience in our community by providing immediate resources to Black Portlanders. The Black Resilience Fund was created as a response to the continual and preventable suffering endured by Black communities due to systemic oppression.

Causa Worker Relief

Causa works to improve the lives of Latino immigrants and their families in Oregon through advocacy, coalition building, leadership development, and civic engagement. The Oregon Worker Relief Fund is a community-based system by Causa providing financial relief to immigrant Oregonians disproportionately affected by COVID-19 that cannot access public benefits.

NIVA Save Our Stages

NIVA (National Independent Venue Association) is a group of over 3,000 independent venues in 50 states and Washington D.C. that are banding together to ask Washington for targeted legislation to help independent venues survive. Their mission is to preserve and nurture the ecosystem of independent live event venues and promoters.

Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon

APANO unites Asians and Pacific Islanders to build power, develop leaders, and advance equity through organizing, advocacy, community development, and cultural work. They envision a just world where Asians and Pacific Islanders and communities who share their aspirations and struggles have the power, resources, and voice to determine their own futures,  and where we work in solidarity to drive political, social, economic, and cultural change

KairosPDX

KairosPDX is an education-focused nonprofit attacking Portland’s persistent achievement gap, especially for kids of color and children in poverty.
