Creating Original Music for Subaru: Stop for the Small Things

Sometimes moments in life can flash by in the blink of an eye. It makes sense how such a thing can happen, what with bills to pay, laundry to do, chores — did we mention bills to pay? Yeah, well, there’s always more than you thought.

A relatable feeling, Subaru’s latest campaign calls out everyone who’s been too busy to thoroughly enjoy a moment, highlighting a couple seeking out directions to a remote woodland trail. The ironic bit? George Wurtzel, the gentle spirited volunteer who offers to guide them happens to be blind.

When turning out to be more in-tune and savvy with navigation than the young couple, Wurtzel calls on the pair to take the journey a bit slower — to enjoy the process, and savor the small things. What’s even more fantastic is Wurtzel being a real life nature guide who takes adventurers out on trails in Napa, California.

The one minute long adventure is accompanied by music created by Marmoset’s own Original Music Team (credits below). It’s akin to the vibes of “Scarborough Fair/Canticle” by Simon & Garfunkel, with a hushed intensity that creates emotional undertone. Check out the full commercial here:
